As the name implies, King Sieg is a cross between the King Richard leek and Siegfried Frost leek.  The two come together to create a versatile stable cultivar that has the good attributes of both. Its shanks are about 6" long but with a wonderful 3" thickness for a wide edible area. It also has some of Siegfried’s delightful blue-green coloration and delayed maturity. Its growth pattern suggests it is a good candidate for overwintering.
